Stripey Goodness Hat

A quick stash-busting project, even if you only half-skeins of gorgeous yarn, you can put it to work with this easy pattern.

Pattern Information


Materials

Loom: 80 peg, fine sett/gauge knitting loom. Child size hat loom was used in sample.

Yarn: 2 skeins of Knit Picks Comfy; one skein in color Ivory, one skein in color Sea Foam.

Notions: tool, tapestry needle, scissors.

Size: Fits up to a 19 inch head

Gauge: 10.5sts and 14.5 rows=2 inches

Stitch Patterns: Stockinette stitch: knit all rows in knit stitch (not e-wrap)


 


Pattern Notes:

• Knitted completely in stockinette stitch
• A=Ivory Color
• B=Sea Foam

With A, cast on 80sts and join to knit in the round.
Next: With A, work 8 rounds in knit stitch
Next: Change to B (do not cut A), work 4 rounds in knit stitch
*Next: Change to A (do not cut B), work 4 rounds in knit stitch
Next: Change to B (do nut cut A), work 4 rounds* in knit stitch

Repeat from * to * 5 more times

Finishing

Seam the top together by grafting the stitches.

Pick up the opposite corners of the top of the hat and bring them together and seam the tips together.

Make a pom-pom and add to the joint made by the corners of the top of the hat.
