My children are huge fruit eaters. They have at least three apples a day...each! With school starting, I didn't want their fruit intake to stop and having bruised fruit is not an option for a kid as they see a bruise and they think right away that it is bad and toss it. A couple of small knitted baggies solved the problem of bruised fruit. The two cozies below fit a medium size apple/pear. Knit a few for the family and knit a few as gifts for other children and even the teachers!

Notes:

~~ ~~Knit stitch is not the e-wrap. You may substitute with the Flat Stitch. Pattern has not been tested with the e-wrap.

The cable takes place on 4 pegs. Pegs are numbered 1 to 4 from right to left.

1. Place loops from pegs 1 and 2 on CN
2. Bring WY in front of the CN. Knit pegs 3 and 4. Then move them as follows, loop from peg 3 to peg 1; loop from peg 4 to peg 2.
3. Take loops from CN, place on pegs 3 and 4 (be sure to keep the correct order, loop that was on peg 1 goes to peg 3, loop that was on peg 2 goes to peg 4). Knit these two stitches.
4. Go to each of the loops on the four pegs and gently pull out any yarn slack doing so tightens the cable.
